ARKANSAS BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD ANNOUNCES DATA CENTER
Conway, November 5, 2009 – Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Mark White today announced that the insurance provider will build a new data center in Conway, Arkansas. “This new data center will provide a new level of service dependability for the members, employer groups and physicians and hospitals working with Arkansas Blue Cross and our family of companies.” ABCBS plans to invest approximately $12 million in the project, which could employ up to 20 people with a payroll of over one million dollars.
ABCBS intends to locate the data center in a new 17,000 square foot facility in The Meadows Office and Technology Park in Conway, AR. The Meadows is a 180 acre office park owned by the Conway Development Corporation designed to provide a “campus setting” for knowledge based industry. The company plans on beginning construction in early 2010(?)
