O’KELLEY DONATES LAND TO THE CONWAY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
December 31, 2001
Conway, AR — The CDC announced today they have received a gift of 53 acres of land in the friendship community. The gift comes from the City of Conway on behalf of J.F. "Felton" O’Kelley. O’Kelley wished to donate the land for industrial purposes, and gave it to the City of Conway. The city then deeded the property to the CDC to add to its industrial acreage.
Bill Hegeman, president of the Conway Development Corporation said, "We are honored that Mr. O’Kelley wanted to donate his property for industrial purposes. He and the other founding members of the CDC have provided a solid foundation for our organization. His gift today demonstrates his lifelong commitment to economic development in Conway."
O’Kelley was a founding member of the Conway Development Corporation and served on its board of directors from 1964 to 1990. O’Kelley worked in the brick and concrete business.
