CDC WEBSITE WINS REGIONAL AWARD
October 10, 2002
Conway, AR — The Conway Development Corporation has been honored with an award from the Southern Economic Development Council for the organization's website, designed to advertise the city's business climate and quality of life.
The award was in the category of local, state or regional economic development organizations throughout seventeen southern states. The award was given at the SEDC annual meeting in Birmingham, Alabama on September 23.
"We are excited that our website was chosen as one of the best in the southern United States," said Bill Hegeman, president of the Conway Development Corporatio. "The effort to develop this website took months of gathering data that site location consultants typically want at their fingertips. We always felt that we had a great product, but it is nice to get confirmation from such a respected organization."
Websites were judged according to data type, data quality, organization and ease of navigation, visual appeal, and accessibility. The website category had the largest number of entrants, and ten awards were given.
"The competition was stiff this year, as economic development organization’s throughout our region submitted expertly prepared materials," said Gene Stinson, president of the Southern Economic Development Council. Founded in 1946, the Southern Economic Development Council is the oldest and largest regional economic development association in North America, with members in 17 Southern states.
The Conway Development Corporation website was designed and constructed by CJRW of Little Rock. The website features a lifestyle video, newsroom, and information on available industrial sites and buildings.
